Van Gogh Has a Broken Heart by Russ Ramsey – My husband bought me this book for my birthday this year. I loved Rembrandt is in the Wind so much, that I was excited when I saw the release of this book.
Van Gogh has a Broken Heart is less of a sequel and more of a companion book to Rembrandt is in the Wind. While in the first book, I felt like I got to know some of the artists, in the second book I felt like I got to know the writer who took in the paintings, as well as some of the art itself. It made me pause and consider my own reactions to art and what I have learned from my favorites, as well as deepened my desire to study art more. It reminded me to look for the lessons God would teach me through the art I love and why it attracts me.
This was a good book, that I am happy to keep on my shelf with Rembrandt is in the Wind.
