Twelve Extraordinary Women by John MacArthur – This is not a book on the current shelf I’m working through, but I do own it. I read this in June for a Book Study with ladies in my church.
I really appreciated this book. I discovered answers to questions I have had for a number of years and an understanding on points I had not considered. The book gave me a new appreciation for Biblical figures I had either overlooked or had even felt tempted to dislike, such as Sarah, Abraham’s wife. I loved being reminded and discovering ways I hadn’t before picked up on, that God used these women to further His story unfolding across time.
I had one or two small points where I disagreed with Mr. MacArthur, but they are not worth detail. Overall, I appreciated the book and will be glad to give it a place on our shelf.
